Integrating Somatic work, Energetic practices, and subconscious healing to feel like a million bucks
Even though talk therapy has now a solid place into our society, I usually find that by just talking about your issues and learn some coping mechanisms is not enough. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate therapists and they saved me many times in the past, but in my opinion, they’re the first step into the healing ladder, and the place where everybody should start their healing journey.
But once you’ve completed your therapy time and you have an understanding of how your mind works and what your triggers are, it’s time to release them.
Now we know that the body keeps the score and holds on to trauma, showing and acting up when we less need them in the form of ‘interoceptions’, or in English, physical sensations that make your life way more uncomfortable than it should be.
Let’s say you had a car accident in a rainy day, and now you are scared to drive. Well, this is because your brain now associates cars with danger, and it’s trying to keep you save sending signals to your body to let you know that cars are dangerous, so you don’t get in a car ever again. But there’s a chance that you will also react to the rain, and that’s a bigger problem, especially if you live in northern Europe.
What if every time that it rains your back hurts? Or your stomach? What if you get dizzy each time the clouds show up? Your body carries the memory of this event and unless you do some work around it, it will make your life very difficult in the long run.
The solution here is to drop into your body and explore every inch of it, to know yourself so well that you can notice every single shift, every small tension in your body that shouldn’t be there, and allow that discomfort to exist. And by your surprise, with a bit of practice the tension and the discomfort will go away in around 90 seconds.
Also, in many cases people stop here and overlook the energetic field, not acknowledging that the biofield and the physical body are interconnected. Actually, the subtle body surrounds our physical body and influences our wellbeing in a deep level, so much that any imbalances that we can have in our energetic body manifests as an illness in the physical body. And that’s why you feel so good after going to an acupuncture or a reiki session, or practicing tai-chi. Because these practices help to restore the flow of energy and balance in the body.
So, to summarize, if you want to experience full health in all realms of life and you want to kow yourself fully, you need to pay attention to these 3 things, and by skipping one or more of them you’ll be limping and not able to see the full picture.
